The Perry Foundation REV Cycle Festival is an event managed by U Leisure. U Leisure is a limited liability joint venture between the University of Waikato and the Waikato Students' Union.
Enhancing the Uni Experience is our principal objective. We do this through establishing and maintaining facilities and services for the benefit of students and staff at The University of Waikato. Our Events Division manages a range of events that embrace the community at large, with a focus on family. Annual events that we organise include:
THE PERRY FOUNDATION REV CYCLE FESTIVAL: a major cycling event for competitive and recreational riders of all abilities including the countries top cyclists. The race distances are 120km, 40km, 18km and special kids events.
THE GALLAGHER GREAT RACE: an annual rowing challenge held on the Waikato River between the University of Waikato and a visiting international university crew (previously Cambridge, Oxford, Harvard and Washington Universities) who are invited to NZ to compete. This internationally recognised race attracts world class crews and is supported wholeheartedly by Rowing NZ.
THE GREAT RACE BALL: an annual event held in conjunction with the rowing race, the ball truely is like no other event in New Zealand. It is a night of luxury, endless entertainment, indulgence and mystery.
ASB SOCIAL SPORT: ASB Social Sport in Hamilton offers Indoor and Outdoor Social Sport Leagues throughout the year. Sports include netball, volleyball, soccer and touch. There are games to suit all abilities. Leagues are held at the University of Waikato.
NZ COLLEGE GAMES: the largest sporting event in New Zealand for secondary school students takes place in Hamilton every four years (in Olympic year). It is an Olympic-like event with 20 sports represented and over 3000 participants from more than 280 schools from around the country. |
